Independent Committee Members x 2 (Audit & Risk / Investment)
Candidate information

Thank you for your interest in becoming an Independent Member of one of the RSPCA’s finance committees. If successful, you will be joining a highly-qualified and experienced group of skilled volunteers who give their time and expertise in support of our work. It’s a hugely rewarding role.

The context in which the RSPCA operates has changed a great deal in recent years. The world is changing at a rapid pace; from the growing climate emergency and the post-Brexit trade environment, to the recognition of loneliness in our society and the changing nature of how we live, work and interact, not least as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. These changes, and many others, will have clear implications for animal welfare: and the RSPCA needs to innovate, change and refocus its activities to ensure it can best protect and improve animal welfare.

Financial stability and resilience is an absolute priority for many charities, and the Society is no exception. All of our fundamental indicators are relatively healthy, but we recognise that we must maintain a continuous improvement approach to all of our financial and business processes and strategies. If you choose to join us, you will be making a significant contribution to the long-term financial health and success of the oldest animal welfare charity in the world.

I look forward to meeting you.

Our Strategy

Our new strategy is deliberately ambitious, and we recognise that it takes all of us to create a world that is kinder to animals.
